Zartep the Despoiler Unleashes the Power of the Omega Matrix

In the Grand Hall of the Central Pyramid of the Obsidian Desert of Duat, Zartep the Despoiler sat upon a throne of ripping blue energy as he eyed The Omega Matrix. At the center of the hall, the ancient artifact sat, crackling and undulating with sparks of black cosmic energy. Swarms of Petraz Pattern Crayboth guided Zarteps followers towards the Omega Matrix. One at a time, each of the members of the Scarabite Legion were brought before the artifact. As its energies focused upon each follower, the crackling black energy engulfed them, violently mutating them into a darker, more twisted version of their previous selves.

A holographic projection of the Space Wizard Abrax materialized before Zartep's throne and assumed a kneeling position.

Reconstruction of Cerebus continues as planned, my lord. And The Volodyan Choir continue to perform the ceremony to generate the portal for your legion's arrival. 

Zartep nodded in acknowledgement and rose to his feet.

Excellent. The fool Gorgax will be caught completely unaware...

Reaching his massive gauntleted fist outwards, Zartep placed his hand directly upon The Omega Matrix. The cavernous great hall began to distort with violent cosmic pops and spasms, expanding and contracting in an unsteady arcane rhythm. With his cyclopic eye fixed upon the artifact, Zartep slowly pressed his fingers into The Omega Matrix, causing the hall to overflow with crackling black energy, cosmic discord and the squealing sound of grinding metal.

And then silence.

A hideously transformed Zartep began to make his way towards the exit of the pyramid, his newly transformed followers following behind him in formation.

A swirling portal had formed in the distance and Zartep the Despolier lead his newly mutated Scarabite Legion towards it. The glass like surface of the only desert around them began to crack and shatter. And ghastly skull faced legionaries clawed their way through the planer's surface, falling into formation alongside the legion.

But in the distance, a figure of pure blackness appeared...

I'm extremely excited to announce a new production vinyl Galaxxor drop this Wednesday 11.11.20 at 8pm Central in the Galaxxor online store. This one is particularly exciting, as it involves a fan favorite character, Zartep, in a new Reverse Scarabite color way. Zartep's alt head is the premier fully painted release of the Samedian Trooper skull head (digitally sculpted by the mighty BigManToys!). This figure will include both heads, will come in bag and header packaging, and will be $40 each.

But wait, there's more! People have most certainly been asking for another DIY release of the base Galaxxor figure, and I always liked the way that he looks in solid matte black, so we're also going to also be releasing a run of Void Projection Galaxxors. Ideal for you customizers out there or those of you who just want to display the Galaxxor shape as a simple sculptural piece. They will be $30 each.

Bit props go out to my main man Cappyspace. This particular drop is a collaborative with him. Cappy will be unleashing his own offerings at the same time as my drop in his online shop and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised if you're a fan of color coordination. C2E2 2016!

 

One of the highlights of the year for me is C2E2 (March 18th-20th in Chicago). I always get the opportunity, via my Nerd City project, to bring together some of my favorite artists and friends together into one booth. We'll be at #760 in The Block this year, and our booth is set to be packed with an awesome array of exclusives. I'm going to be bringing four offerings this year. Each one is a collaboration with a friend of mine from the independent toy scene.

Man-Uzi by Galaxxor x ManOrMonster? Studios

 

 

 

My buddy, Brandon of ManOrMonster? Studios, will be a guest at Nerd City's booth once again this year. and in addition to his own offerings, Brandon and I have collaborated on Man-Uzi, The Living Uzi! Man-Uzi is a 5.5" resin figure that consists of both sculpting and mashed up bits from various action figures. He features ManOrMonster?'s iconic magnetic articulation at the head, arms and waist and was hand painted by yours truly. And uzis. Two uzis!

Man-Uzi will be an edition of 3 and $80 each at Nerd City's booth #760 in the Block.

Fugg the Slayer "Flesh to Death" Edition by Galaxxor x BigManToys

 

 

 

Ever since we collaborated on the original Fugg the Slayer, my man Lee from BigManToys, and I have wanted to do a solid "flesh" colored version.The polyurethane rubber body that this crazy Orc sports was just asking for a classic M.U.S.C.L.E.treatment! The Fugg the Slayer "Flesh to Death" edition was cast in polyurethane rubber (body/belt) and resin (hands/head). He even sports neck articulation!

Tricera-Tank Phaze Trooper by Galaxxor x Goodleg Toys

 

 

 

Collaborating with my friend Luke from Goodleg Toys on our Lazer-Saurs Tricera-Tank figure was certainly one of my favorite projects of the last year or so. For C2E2, I decided to put a crazy spin on the figure in the form of the Phaze Trooper. The Tricera-Tank Phaze Trooper is a 5.5" resin figure that was cast in clear resin by Goodleg Toys. He sports a light spray of color changing holographic glitter and articulation at the arms and tail. Because you HAVE to have tail articulation! 

Tricera-Tank Phaze Trooper will be an edition of 3 and $80 each at Nerd City's booth #760 in the Block.

Rudeboy by Galaxxor x 5.5 Customs

 

 

 

Over the years, I've seen my friend Dwaine, from 5.5 Customs develop from someone who collected my work to a creative powerhouse in his own right. A while ago, Dwaine sculpted and mashed up a new figure and asked me if I'd like to handle the painting duties on it. Unfortunately, I suffered a hand injury last year, and things got delayed. But, for C2E2 2016, Rudeboy, Anthropomorphic Rhinoceros Henchman is finally seeing the light of day! Rudeboy is a 5.5" resin figure sculpted and produced in resin by 5.5 Customs and sporting a paintjob by yours truly.

Rudeboy will be an edition of 5 and $60 each at Nerd City's booth #760 in the Block.

Fugg the Slayer from Galaxxor x BigManToys Drops 07.31.15 at Noon CDT

 

Once a ruthlessly savage warlord from the planet Orkamania, Fugg the Slayer is now one of the most feared combatants in the fighting arenas of the hive planet X-544. Tasked by a wealthy hive aristocrat with hunting down a suitable opponent for The Lucha Sharks, Ciper the Bounty Hunter captured Fugg from his home planet and brought him to X-544. Every bit as flamboyant as he is violent, Fugg now stands at the top of the ranks of the hive world arena fighters, terrorizing even The Lucha Sharks!

 

 

Fugg the Slayer is a 5.5"-style art figure that features a head and hands that were sculpted/mashed up by Ben Spencer, and a body buck and removable championship belt that was sculpted/mashed up by the mighty BigManToys. The head and hands are cast in resin, but the body and belt are cast in a softer polyurethane rubber. Both resin and rubber production were handled by Bigmantoys. Fugg is also hand painted by Ben Spencer, and he features soft goods arm bands and neck articulation.

 

Fugg the Slayer comes in bag and header packaging.  He will be limited to an edition of 5 at $70 each, exclusively through The Galaxxor Online Store on 07.31.15 at noon CDT.

 

 

Fugg the Slayer, Coming Soon From Galaxxor x BigManToys!

 

A collaboration between BigManToys and yours truly has become an annual event of sorts. Lee from BigMan is an extremely talented artist who I'm honored to call a peer and a friend. 

Recently, Lee created a new one piece 5.5" buck. Ideal for customization, the buck, at it's core, is ideal for a wrestler-type character, but also suitable for a virtually endless amount of customization potential. Running with the concept of BigManToys' new base body, and intrigued by the fact that it could be produced in a polyurethane  rubber (similar to the old LJN WWF figures), I decided that I wanted to have a go at a wrestler-type dude. I've got a love of Orcs, dating back to my earliest days of playing D&D and extensively informed by all of the great Games Workshop media of the early 90's. So, it was a no brainer to try to sculpt/mash up the head of that great classic Orc action figure that I always wanted, but never got.

I wanted to approach the design of the hands in a way that continued to develop the idea of the character I was beginning to see in my head- brutal, yet comedically flamboyant. I had come up with the name of "Fugg the Slayer" for this guy, so the idea popped into my head to create hands sporting brass knuckles/four finger rings that sayd "FUGG" and "LIFE". I also mashed together bits for a championship belt, featuring a skull from a vintage Nightmare Warrior.

 

So, these are some snaps, courtesy of Lee, of the first pull of good old Fugg. The head and hands are cast in hard resin, but the body and belt will be in pu rubber. I intend to add some paint aps on the head and hands, as well as a couple of other little flourishes. The body material, however, doesn't accept paint, so that's going to stay solid green. BigManToys is currently finishing these up, and then they have to make the trip over to this side of the ocean for painting. But, I would imagine that I should have details about how you can get down with that Fugg Life in the next few weeks. Stay tuned!

Fröstkronna the Cyborg Space Barbarian C2E2 Exclusive from Galaxxor x BigManToys

 

About once a year, my friend Lee (the mastermind behind BigManToys) and I try to do a collaborative figure. This time around, Lee had the idea to make a figure that was a combination of his iconic Wo-Man figure and my Cyborg Space Barbarian figure, Fröstkron.  If you're going to be at C2E2 this year, you just might have the chance to snag one from Nerd City's booth #750!

Fröstkronna  features a head that was sculpted by Ben Spencer and produced by The Godbeast and a body that was sculpted and produced by Bigman Toys, this deadly resin beauty features articulation at the shoulders and right wrist. She also features rubber cast armor by BigmanToys and was hand painted by Ben Spencer.
Fröstkronna is limited to an edition of 5 and is $75 each.
