C2E2 2016!

One of the highlights of the year for me is C2E2 (March 18th-20th in Chicago). I always get the opportunity, via my Nerd City project, to bring together some of my favorite artists and friends together into one booth. We'll be at #760 in The Block this year, and our booth is set to be packed with an awesome array of exclusives. I'm going to be bringing four offerings this year. Each one is a collaboration with a friend of mine from the independent toy scene.
Man-Uzi by Galaxxor x ManOrMonster? Studios
My buddy, Brandon of ManOrMonster? Studios, will be a guest at Nerd City's booth once again this year. and in addition to his own offerings, Brandon and I have collaborated on Man-Uzi, The Living Uzi! Man-Uzi is a 5.5" resin figure that consists of both sculpting and mashed up bits from various action figures. He features ManOrMonster?'s iconic magnetic articulation at the head, arms and waist and was hand painted by yours truly. And uzis. Two uzis!
Man-Uzi will be an edition of 3 and $80 each at Nerd City's booth #760 in the Block.

Fugg the Slayer "Flesh to Death" Edition by Galaxxor x BigManToys
Ever since we collaborated on the original Fugg the Slayer, my man Lee from BigManToys, and I have wanted to do a solid "flesh" colored version. The polyurethane rubber body that this crazy Orc sports was just asking for a classic M.U.S.C.L.E.treatment! The Fugg the Slayer "Flesh to Death" edition was cast in polyurethane rubber (body/belt) and resin (hands/head). He even sports neck articulation!
Fugg the Slayer "Flesh to Death" Edition will be an edition of 3 and $60 each at Nerd City's booth #760 in the Block.
"FUGG LIFE!"

Tricera-Tank Phaze Trooper by Galaxxor x Goodleg Toys
Collaborating with my friend Luke from Goodleg Toys on our Lazer-Saurs Tricera-Tank figure was certainly one of my favorite projects of the last year or so. For C2E2, I decided to put a crazy spin on the figure in the form of the Phaze Trooper. The Tricera-Tank Phaze Trooper is a 5.5" resin figure that was cast in clear resin by Goodleg Toys. He sports a light spray of color changing holographic glitter and articulation at the arms and tail. Because you HAVE to have tail articulation!
Tricera-Tank Phaze Trooper will be an edition of 3 and $80 each at Nerd City's booth #760 in the Block.

Rudeboy by Galaxxor x 5.5 Customs
Over the years, I've seen my friend Dwaine, from 5.5 Customs develop from someone who collected my work to a creative powerhouse in his own right. A while ago, Dwaine sculpted and mashed up a new figure and asked me if I'd like to handle the painting duties on it. Unfortunately, I suffered a hand injury last year, and things got delayed. But, for C2E2 2016, Rudeboy, Anthropomorphic Rhinoceros Henchman is finally seeing the light of day! Rudeboy is a 5.5" resin figure sculpted and produced in resin by 5.5 Customs and sporting a paintjob by yours truly.
Rudeboy will be an edition of 5 and $60 each at Nerd City's booth #760 in the Block.

If you're going to be at C2E2, be sure to stop by the Nerd City booth to check out my stuff and all of the other cool work by the other guests. I'd love to chat Galaxxor with you!
I will also have on hand the Mold Masters for the production vinyl Galaxxors. They should start popping up very, very soon...

Hippo Titan Soldier Deep Warp Gunner C2E2 2015 Exclusive from Galaxxor x ManOrMonster Studios

The Hippo Titan Soldiers of Kabbagiff are, primarily, a terrestrial military force. Using their imposing bulk and extraordinary skill with the blunderbuss, the Kabagiffian soldiers have helped push back the forces of gorgax and his Evil Mutant legions on many planets, throughout the Galaxxorverse.
The Deep Warp gunners are the elite of the elite Hippo Titan Soldiers. Hand picked by Sgt. Krugg and equipped with special Deep Warp Conversion Armor, Hippo titan Soldier Deep Warp Gunners are ideal for outer space and inter-dimensional combat situations.
When General Gorgax unlocked the cosmic powers of the Omega Matrix, Infiniton of the Seven Space Gods tasked Galaxxor 014 to take an elite team of Hippo Titan Soldier Deep Warp Gunners to the digital city C2-E215 to battle Gorgax and his Cyborg Space Barbarian minions. The fate of the Galaxxorverse hangs in the balance of this epic conflict!
Brandon Barker of ManOrMonster? Studios and I made the first Hippo Titan Soldier almost two years ago, and we've been meaning to get back to another edition of them, but done in a slightly more far out colorway. When we came to the decision to do one in a deep, glossy purple with neon green and black accents for C2E2, Brandon also suggested we revisit the original shoulder design of the figure. After a bit of back and forth design chat, Brandon came back with what you see here. He really did an incredible job of building upon the pre-existing aesthetic and taking the design to the next proverbial level. I'm incredibly pleased with how these came out and can't wait to do a few more editions of these bad boys in the future.
Spelljammer for life!
Hippo Titan Soldier Deep Warp Gunner is a 5.5" art toy that was designed and sculpted by Ben Spencer and ManOrMonster? Studios and engineered and produced in resin by ManOrMonster?. It was hand painted by Ben Spencer. The Hippo Titan Soldier features 3 points of magnetic articulation at the arms and waist. It also features a magnetic blunderbuss accessory, which can be held in his hand, or mounted on his thigh or back.
Limited to an edition of 5, The Hippo Titan Soldier Deep Warp Gunner will be $75 each and will exclusively be available at Nerd City's booth #760 at C2E2.

Galaxxor Swag for C2E2 2015

C2E2 is just about a week away. Here in the home stretch, it's a mad dash to tie up loose ends, finish up projects and organize all of the madness that will be Nerd City's booth #760. I've got one more exclusive to announce, but I wanted to quickly share a couple of other cool little things that we'll have at the booth. Pictured above is a new sticker that I'll be launching, the 5.5"x7" "Cosmic Halftone" sticker will be available for free for just popping by the booth, checking some Galaxxor goodness and saying, "Hi".
We'll also have this really great 3.5" patch that I did with my friend, Mark, from Until We Burn. This neon green/black/white patch is fully sewn and will be going for just $5 each as a con special.
I'm really looking forward to seeing everybody at C2E2 this year. Stay tuned over the next week for a couple more updates and surprises!

Omega Matrix Power General Gorgax C2E2 2015 Exclusive

When General Gorgax unlocked the cosmic powers of the Omega Matrix, Infiniton of the Seven Space Gods tasked Galaxxor 014 to take an elite team of Hippo Titan Soldier Deep Warp Gunners to the digital city C2-E215 to battle Gorgax and his Cyborg Space Barbarian minions. The fate of the Galaxxorverse hangs in the balance of this epic conflict!
In the Galaxxorverse, there are many Galaxxors, but really only one General Gorgax. So, in essence, any Gorgax that I do from here on out will be a variant, of sorts. I've always had a soft spot for those super over the top variants of figures that they used to pump out in the 80's/90's. Who wants a neon green Scuba Attack Batman? No one. But, sometimes, those figures got so crazy that something beautiful happened. So, Omega Matrix Power General Gorgax is my tribute to that sort of figure, along with a tip of the hat to another iconic snake of a villain that rocked that iconic mirror chrome face plate.
Omega Martix Power General Gorgax is a 5.5" art toy that was designed and sculpted by Ben Spencer and engineered and produced in semi-translucent neon pink resin by The Godbeast and True Cast Studio. Gorgax was hand painted by Ben Spencer. He features 3 points of articulation at the arms and head.
Limited to an edition of 5, Omega Matrix Power General Gorgax will be $90 each and will exclusively be available at Nerd City's booth #760 at C2E2.

Galaxxor 014 C2E2 2015 Exclusive

When General Gorgax unlocked the cosmic powers of the Omega Matrix, Infiniton of the Seven Space Gods tasked Galaxxor 014 to take an elite team of Hippo Titan Soldier Deep Warp Gunners to the digital city C2-E215 to battle Gorgax and his Cyborg Space Barbarian minions. The fate of the Galaxxorverse hangs in the balance of this epic conflict!
The head of Galaxxor 014 is a new addition to our library of bits and its design goes back to a weekend I spent hanging out and sculpting at True Cast Studio a couple of years ago. Being a 40K fan, I always loved the look of the Eldar, and wanted to create something that called back to their iconic pointy helms, but that would also blend into the more bulky proportions of the Galaxxor buck. Somewhere along the way, a little bit of my love of late 80's/early 90's McFarlane art crept in there, as well. Marty "The Godbeast" Hansen and the boys at True Cast Studio really knocked it out of the proverbial park with the color of the translucent smoke resin base. In low light, it comes off as a super glossy dark gray, but in high light, it appears to be almost clear. I've always dug clear toys. There's something so cool to me about being able to see their inner workings through the material. I feel like Galaxxor 014 has a bit of that magic.

Limited to an edition of 5, Galaxxxor 014 will be $90 each and will exclusively be available at Nerd City's booth #760 at C2E2.

Cyborg Space Barbarian Kromulus C2E2 2015 Exclusive from Galaxxor x Zoloworld

As General Gorgax's elite goons, the Cyborg Space Barbarians are an essential part of the Galaxxorverse. I love the way that the original helmet I sculpted came out, and I really enjoy making more barbarian-style characters, but as the core Galaxxor brand continues to evolve, I really wanted to move away from them simply being new heads on old MOTU bodies. My buddy Mike, from Zoloworld, and I have been chatting about doing some sort of collaborative work for a while, now. So, it only made sense to look to his awesome Realm of the Underworld line of vintage-style action figures as a possible base upon which to re-launch the Cyborg Space Barbarian concept.Originally conceived as a two-off project for Mike and I to see how the Cyborg Space Barbarian helmet looked with the Zoloworld barbarian buck, Kromulus got a great deal of positive feedback from the pictures that I posted online. So, I decided to do an extremely limited number of these guys as one of my exclusives for C2E2 this year.
So, as opposed to using disused vintage figures for the bodies, the Kromulus figures will feature brand new Zoloworld bucks, which are then hand painted. They will feature 5 points of articulation, at the shoulders, waist and legs. Please let me know if this is something that you'd like to see more of in the future. I'd really like to work with Zoloworld some more, and it might be a cool opportunity to get some top quality Cyborg Space Barbarians into the hands of more collectors.
Cyborg Space Barbarian Kromulus is a 5.5" art figure that features a head sculpted by Ben Spencer, which was then cast in resin by Marty "The Godbeast" Hansen and True Cast Studio. The figure features a custom painted Zoloworld body, which sports 5 points of articulation. Kromulus comes with an Omega Matrix Orbs necklace accessory. This figure is limited to an edition of 3 and they will be $75 each from The Nerd City booth in The Block at C2E2 (April 24-26 in Chicago, IL).
I will have quite a few more exclusives to announce in the next month or so, so stay tuned to the Galaxxor blog for all of the latest and greatest!

Galaxxor 013 C2E2 Exclusive from Galaxxor x The Godbeast

After I saw just how stunningly awesome the newly reworked Galaxxor turned out (thanks to my good friends, The Godbeast and True Cast Studio), I really wanted to revisit one of the looks that Marty and I had played around with on Galaxxor 005 and Galaxxor 006, with the bb's suspended in crystal clear resin. And, I wanted to include one such figure as an additional exclusive for this year's C2E2 (April 25-27th in Chicago). Thus, following in the neon green footsteps of Cosmic Green Megakeshi Galaxxor comes Galaxxor 013!

The body was sculpted/designed by Ben Spencer and was extensively refined by Marty "The Godbeast" Hansen and Josh Edwards of True Cast Studio. Fröstkronna the Cyborg Space Barbarian C2E2 Exclusive from Galaxxor x BigManToys

About once a year, my friend Lee (the mastermind behind BigManToys) and I try to do a collaborative figure. This time around, Lee had the idea to make a figure that was a combination of his iconic Wo-Man figure and my Cyborg Space Barbarian figure, Fröstkron.  If you're going to be at C2E2 this year, you just might have the chance to snag one from Nerd City's booth #750!
pic
Fröstkronna  features a head that was sculpted by Ben Spencer and produced by The Godbeast and a body that was sculpted and produced by Bigman Toys, this deadly resin beauty features articulation at the shoulders and right wrist. Lucha Sharks Fintastico C2E2 2014 Exclusive

Once again, from that corner of the Galaxxorverse known as Hive World X-544 comes Fintastico, the mystical magician of The Lucha Sharks! He'll amaze you with his arcane prowess as well as his gleaming, glittery skin! This figure was sculpted and designed by Ben Spencer and fine tuned and produced in resin by Marty "The Godbeast" Hansen at True Cast Studio. Fintastico was also given a brilliant glittery finish and hand painted by Ben Spencer. This figure is limited to an edition of 5 and will never be produced in this colorway ever again. Fintastico features 2 points of articulation and is exclusively available for $75 each at Nerd City's booth (we don't know the #, yet!)  starting on 04.25.14 at C2E2.
It should also be noted that Fintastico will be the last Lucha Shark figure done in this specific sculpt. TGB and I have discussed doing different types of sharks and characters in the line from the very beginning, and this will be the last figure done with the Great White mold.
Fintastico is also part of a great lineup of C2E2 2014 Exclusives at the Nerd City booth. 2014 will see Nerd City hosting an insanely cool lineup of extremely limited exclusives, from resin art figures, to vinyl designer toys, to pvc production figures, to limited edition prints and books. If you are going to be at C2E2, DO NOT MISS NERD CITY'S BOOTH!
If there is any leftover stock following the con, Fintastico will be available in from The Galaxxor Online Store.
For even more pics and info, be sure to check out the official Lucha Sharks blog.

Sgt. Krugg, Hippo Titan Soldier Prototype WIP

C2E2 was an absolute blast and an overwhelming success. Special thanks to all of my friends who came out to the Nerd City booth to hand out, support my figures, or bring their own awesome work to sell/show off. Speaking of showing off, I unveiled this sweet little WIP prototype of my first Hippo Titan Soldier figure, Sgt. Krugg. Hippo Titan Soldier is a Galaxxorverse project that I'm doing in Conjunction with ManOrMonster? Studios. So, his articulation at his waist and hips will be of the magnetic variety that you've come to know and love from Brandon. The Hippo's blunderbuss accessory will also have a magnet in its stock, so that it can be displayed on his thigh(shown), back, or in his hand. The magnetic joints will also be compatible with all of MOM's other figures. This paintjob is a bit rushed and will be tightened up a pinch, but I figured that it was time to officially share on the blog, since there are already plenty of pics of him floating around the intertubes.
I do hope to get a drop of 5 done in this colorway in the next month, or so.
Stay tuned!!!
Oh yeah! If you need to get your Galaxxorverse fix before this dude drops, head over to the Galaxxor Store to grab the final remaining Gorgax, Devourer of Worlds figure that I did with Skinner.http://www.theartofskinner.com/

Gorgax, Devourer of Worlds C2E2 Exclusive from Galaxxor x Skinner

Pretty much anyone who's had the opportunity to chat with me for more than 5 minutes is probably already well aware of how much of a fan I am of the art of Skinner. As we began discussing the upcoming C2E2 and it became clear that Skinner was probably going to be a guest, I couldn't help but approach him about the idea of him doing a custom run of one of my figures. skinner was down and it was decided that Skinner would tackle none other than the big bad of The Galaxxorverse, himself, General Gorgax!
Channeling the only other world crushing cosmic supervillain that could give Gorgax a run for him money, Galactus, Skinner came up with this absolutely stunning colorway for Gorgax, Devourer of Worlds!

Gorgax, Devourer of Worlds is a 5.5" art toy that features 2 points of articulation (shoulders). The original was sculpted/designed by Ben Spencer and then engineered/produced in resin by Marty "The Godbeast". Finally it was expertly painted by none other than Skinner, himself! Gorgax, Devourer of Worlds will be $125 each and limited to an edition of 3. They will be exclusively available at Skinner's Critical Hit booth #965 (right next ti Nerd City!) at C2E2, on Saturday, April 27th, at noon.
