Fugg the Slayer from Galaxxor x BigManToys Drops 07.31.15 at Noon CDT

Once a ruthlessly savage warlord from the planet Orkamania, Fugg the Slayer is now one of the most feared combatants in the fighting arenas of the hive planet X-544. Tasked by a wealthy hive aristocrat with hunting down a suitable opponent for The Lucha Sharks, Ciper the Bounty Hunter captured Fugg from his home planet and brought him to X-544. Every bit as flamboyant as he is violent, Fugg now stands at the top of the ranks of the hive world arena fighters, terrorizing even The Lucha Sharks!

Fugg the Slayer is a 5.5"-style art figure that features a head and hands that were sculpted/mashed up by Ben Spencer, and a body buck and removable championship belt that was sculpted/mashed up by the mighty BigManToys. The head and hands are cast in resin, but the body and belt are cast in a softer polyurethane rubber. Both resin and rubber production were handled by Bigmantoys. Fugg is also hand painted by Ben Spencer, and he features soft goods arm bands and neck articulation.

Fugg the Slayer comes in bag and header packaging.  He will be limited to an edition of 5 at $70 each, exclusively through The Galaxxor Online Store on 07.31.15 at noon CDT.

Lucha Sharks Fintastico C2E2 2014 Exclusive

Once again, from that corner of the Galaxxorverse known as Hive World X-544 comes Fintastico, the mystical magician of The Lucha Sharks! He'll amaze you with his arcane prowess as well as his gleaming, glittery skin! This figure was sculpted and designed by Ben Spencer and fine tuned and produced in resin by Marty "The Godbeast" Hansen at True Cast Studio. Fintastico was also given a brilliant glittery finish and hand painted by Ben Spencer. This figure is limited to an edition of 5 and will never be produced in this colorway ever again. Fintastico features 2 points of articulation and is exclusively available for $75 each at Nerd City's booth (we don't know the #, yet!)  starting on 04.25.14 at C2E2.
It should also be noted that Fintastico will be the last Lucha Shark figure done in this specific sculpt. TGB and I have discussed doing different types of sharks and characters in the line from the very beginning, and this will be the last figure done with the Great White mold.
Fintastico is also part of a great lineup of C2E2 2014 Exclusives at the Nerd City booth. 2014 will see Nerd City hosting an insanely cool lineup of extremely limited exclusives, from resin art figures, to vinyl designer toys, to pvc production figures, to limited edition prints and books. If you are going to be at C2E2, DO NOT MISS NERD CITY'S BOOTH!
If there is any leftover stock following the con, Fintastico will be available in from The Galaxxor Online Store.

Sharkastator for The Blue Collar Toy Show

I was very honored to have been asked to contribute to the Blue Collar Toy Show, hosted by my friends at Madknits.  The group show will open July 13th at the Hope Artiste Village in Pawtucket, RI, and will feature a couple of pieces from me, as well as work from many of my friends and favorite artists.
For my first contribution to the show, I did this crazy mashup of the traditional Galaxxor body with the Lucha Shark head. I've always loved the look of that old Killer Carp figure from Battle Beasts, and this colorway is loosely inspired by him. In the end, this could represent a super armored Lucha Shark, or a wildly mutated rogue Galaxxor, or that I'm just losing my mind. In any case, I've decided to dub this mashed up monstrosity "Sharkastator".

Sharkastator is a 1/1 5.5" art figure that will never be painted in this manner again. The figure was originally sculpted by Ben Spencer, cast in resin by Marty "The Godbeast" Hansen, and hand painted by Ben Spencer. The figure features 2 points of articulation (shoulders). Sharkastator will be $90.
For all of the latest and greatest on the Blue Collar Toy Show, check out the event page on Facebook or the MadKnits Facebook page
At time of posting this, I do not know if this will be available online for purchase. If I do get that information, I will be sure to update this post with it.

"Flesh to Death" Limited Edition Lucha Sharks for The Clutter (In)Action Figures Show

I was truly honored to be asked to take part in The Clutter Gallery's (In)Action Figure Show, opening next Saturday, December 12th. I decided that my contribution to the themed group show would be a super limited run of 3 M.U.S.C.L.E. flesh colored Lucha Sharks that I've affectionately dubbed the "Flesh to Death" edition. These figures were sculpted and designed by Ben Spencer and fine tuned and produced in resin by Marty "The Godbeast" Hansen. They were was also painted by Ben Spencer. This figure is limited to an edition of  3 and will never be produced in this colorway ever again. These 3 SUPER rare Lucha Sharks will be available starting at the opening reception on Saturday, January 12th, 2013 from 6pm until 9pm at The Clutter Gallery, 163 Main St., Beacon, NY 12508. The show will be available for viewing through February 2nd, 2013 and on cluttermagazine.com, where you will also be able to purchase pieces from the show.
The show is also going to be jam packed with work from many of my favorite artists, heroes and good friends, including 2bitHACK, 4 the Luv of Toyz NY (Cash Cannon), BigManToys, Brutherford, ButcherBrand, Danny Frankenstein, The Disarticulators (Tru:Tek, Zectron & BigManToys), Eric Nilla, From the Styx Toys, Fuei Shokai, Josh Longo, Healeymade, Killer Bootlegs, L'amour Supreme, ManOrMonster?, MonsterPants, October Toys, Ron English, Scott Wilkowski x Sucklord and Triclops Studio.

By the way, I have gone into production on all 10 of the El Tiburon Lucha Sharks. I still had a couple of unfilled "pre order" slots available, but decided to produce all 10, anyway. For those who ordered, expect to see El Tiburon headed your way in the next couple of weeks. For those who haven't, you can still snatch up your very own of the last 2 copies of the leader of the Lucha Sharks in the Galaxxor Online Store.

Lucha Sharks!

Things are about to kick into overdrive for my latest toy project, The Lucha Sharks! You probably know all about the figures by now, but you might not necessarily know exactly how those beer loving anthropomorphic Luchadors fit into the Galaxxorverse. You could even call Lucha Sharks a "spinnoff". Indeed it is truly the Family Matters to Galaxxor's Perfect Strangers.

Following General Gorgax's conquering of Xanthos and assembly of his Cyborg Space Barbarian retinue, he amassed The Evil Mutant Legion as his army of intergalactic domination. Of the warriors of The Evil Mutant Legion, none was more fierce and powerful than Tiburonicus, The Bloodthirsty Berzerker Sharkman. Following the conquest of numerous solar systems, Tiburonicus was finally brought to justice by Galaxxor 003 and taken back to his home planet, Hive World X-544.
Universally renowned for their love of gladiatorial combat, the people of X-544 called out for the infamous berzerker to be thrown into the combat pits to fight for their entertainment. Rising to stardom on X-544, Tiburonicus made short work of every opponent he faced, as well as most of the pit staff and a good deal of the fans in the crowd. Following his rapid rise to fame, Tiburonicus was quickly banished to an underground cell laboratory.
Years later, clones of Tiburonicus returned to the gladiatorial pits, this time, they were equipped with Luchatronic helmets. These helmets kept the killer instinct and super strength of the Sharkmen clones intact but replaced the extreme berzerker bloodlust of their gene father with a keen instinct for solving mysteries and an insatiable appetite for hotwings and beer.

We are Standing at the Edge of Time...

Well, a whole bunch of sci-fi cosmic wheels are in motion behind the scenes in the world of Galaxxor business, and I thought it was probably a good idea to do some sort of an update as to what all of that spinning will be resulting in. First of all, NYCC was a smashing success! The Galaxxor 010 came out magnificently, thanks to a stunning new head sculpt by Matt Doughty (I think that Doughty guy might have a really promising future in toy design!). The Infernicuses(?) and 010's all have found their way to their new homes and the Galaxxor Online Store is currently all sold out. The generosity and hospitality of the Onell/Rawshark gang at NYCC was something that will truly inspire me and motivate me for years to come. The comradery was beyond incredible at that booth. I had the pleasure of spending time with so many fiends and heroes at NYCC that I couldn't even begin to list them all.

Speaking of comradery, The Godbeast and I had some time to have a few beers and chat about the future. Out of those talks came the idea to produce a 2" scale Galaxxor mini figure. So, TGB has gone ahead and sculpted the iconic Monster Hunter Robo in mini figure style and will be the main avenue through which to purchase said mini figures. I do plan to have an exclusive colorway or two over in my shop as well, though. Plan on these little beasts to start dropping by late Novemberish. This is all very exciting, beacuse it's sort of the first officially licensed piece of Galaxxor merchandise. Keep your eyes peeled for lunch boxes, t shirts and massage oils!

About the same time, you should see my first figure from The Lucha Sharks, El Tiberon! TGB and I decided to go with articulation at the shoulders and a sculpted on luchador mask. The molds are being made and the initial prototype of  El Tiberon should be popping up soon after that. I plan to handle Lucha sharks a bit differently, in the sense that I'm going to open up 10 preorder slots and then produce that edition once those slots are filled. This should hopefully allow more collectors a chance to get their hands on my figures. If that works out well, I plan to extend that preorder method to all of my future figures.

I was lucky enough to be able to lend a tiny bit of help with the design of my friend Lee(of BigMan Toys fame)'s awesome Treegar figure. I can't believe how cool that thing came out! Well, I'm also very proud to announce that I'm going to have the pleasure of releasing my own run of Treegar: Psychedlic Nightmare Edition! It's going to be highly tripped out. Stay tuned!

I'm also really happy to report that sculpting has kicked back into high gear on Xenotron. All that I'm really doing is refining some curves and cleaning up some shapes. However, approaching the figure from a fresh angle has really reignited my enthusiasm for the design. I think that I was mistakenly looking at it as a companion piece to Galaxxor in the past when, in actuallity, it's an evolution in the design aesthetic. In many ways, I'm getting the feeling that Xenotron is simplifying some facets of the Galaxxor look, while simultaneously pushing the boundaries of other concepts.
I also decided that he needed a slightly bigger "package".

Finally, it's time to start looking forward to C2E2. I'm in the process of assembling a team of artists working in the 5.5"-style format for a set of exclusives that will put this scene on the map.
The Phalanx is coming!
