The Battle Begins- 08.22.16 at 8pm Central

It has been 100 years since the great cosmic robot hero, Galaxxor, was killed.
Slain by the dreaded Lord Gorgax with a planet sized weapon known as The Ultimate Nullifier Cannon, the physical being of our robot hero was splintered into 999 shards, each flung to the far reaches of the pocket dimension known as The Alpha. Almost immediately, a glowing green shell formed around the home of The Seven Space Gods, the crystalline planet, Alpha Primarus.
Over the past 100 years, Gorgax, his elite cadre of Cyborg Space Barbarian henchmen, and their Evil Mutant Legion has wreaked havoc upon the countless worlds of The Alpha. Some planets have held strong, but others have fallen to darkness and chaos.
But there is hope.
The neon shell that has surrounded Alpha Primarus has disappeared, and brilliant explosions of cosmic power are appearing at random locations, throughout The Alpha. In places like the giant blue sun, Anubis 5, and the hive world known as "Dragon City", new Galaxxors are appearing.
On 08.22.16, the battle begins!

It's been a long road to the full realization of this first batch of fully painted Galaxxor figures, from Galaxxor 001 and 007 to that bad, bad dude Gorgax, I'm truly unable to express just how excited I am about how nicely these figures came out. Even the "alt" characters, the Cyborg Space Barbarians Thanyr and Infernicus, and that mysterious entity known as "Roxxalag" blow my mind every time I pick them up and play around with them.
Hopefully, these guys are indicators to you of all of the fun and weirdness that we have in store for the future. It's going to be a crazy ride. Thanks for coming along with me!
Here's the word on the 08.22 drop-

GALAXXOR 001/THANYR:

Produced in a reflex blue vinyl, these 5.5" figures feature Glyos vinyl-compatible articulation at the head, shoulders and chest/waist. They sport multiple paint aps and tampo printing. Each figure comes with both the dome(Galaxxor 001) head and the horned(Thanyr/Cyber Space Barbarian) head.

GORGAX/ROXXALAG:

All kinds of thanks, once again, goes to Matt Doughty and Marty Hansen, for their invaluable guidance. And Mark Vasquez, for all of his help, behind the scenes.

The Cosmic Supernova- 05.25.16 at 8pm Central

In a lost dimension, light years from our world, super-powered cosmic robots do battle with Cyborg Space Barbarians for the fate of the universe! And soon, their power will be in your hands!

At the heart of the cataclysmic event known as The Cosmic Supernova, amidst the swirling energies of The Alpha dimension and the The Omega dimension, Galaxxor and Gorgax are locked in combat. Glowing cosmic green, the outcome of their conflict will alter The Galaxxorverse's timeline forever! It is an epic battle at the end of all things, and sets the cosmic wheels in motion for the beginning of an even more epic saga...

I still have a very vivid memory of being very young, being surrounded by my old MOTU figures, and my mother saying to my grandmother, "Someday, he's going to make toys."
It's been a long journey to this point. With the help of some humblingly talented collaborators, I've been creating Galaxxor figures, in the form of resin and custom toys for many years. And now, we're about to start a new chapter of the Galaxxor story with full production, Glyos-compatible vinyl action figures!

To adequately express how excited I am to be able to bring you production Galaxxor figures would be impossible. As would it be to express just how grateful for the help and guidance of Marty Hansen, Matt Doughty and True Cast Studio throughout this journey. I'm extremely lucky to have had some of the greatest minds in modern toymaking help me to bring you a Galaxxor that is far beyond what I had ever dreamed it could be.

We're going to kick things off 05.25.16 at 8pm Central at galaxxor.com with Cosmic Supernova Galaxxor/Gorgax-

COSMIC SUPERNOVA GALAXXOR/GORGAX: $28 each, Limit 2 per order Produced in a pearlescent neon green vinyl, these 5.5" figures feature Glyos vinyl-compatible articulation at the head, shoulders and chest/waist. They sport purple eyes and black detail lining on the Gorgax head. Each figure comes with both the dome(Galaxxor) head and the horned(Gorgax/Cyber Space Barbarian) head.

It's also worth noting that, for this batch, a bit of heat and squeezing to the top of the chest piece will be required to swap out the domed head, once it's removed. I can't wait to get these into everyone's hands! And this is just the beginning.

I look forward to bringing you cosmic robotic weirdness for years to come. Thank you to everyone for your support of my little project. It means more to me than you'll ever know.

Nordrax and Xardron, The Heralds of Oblivion Resin Figures for Clutter's Inaction Figures 4

As Lord Gorgax travels throughout The Galaxxorverse, crushing worlds and unleashing The Omega Power upon all in his path, he commands his fleet from an obsidian longship. When Gorgax sets his sights upon his next target planet, he sends in advance two of his most trusted henchmen, Nordrax and Xardron, The Heralds of Oblivion!
Twin brothers born of the twisted alien planet Kardanthria, Nordrax and Xardron compliment one another with their opposite natures. Nordrax is cold, cruel and calculating, while Xardron is a raging berserker of a warrior. Together, they are sent out ahead of Gorgax's fleet, to weaken a planet's defenses or even topple it from within, prior to Lord Gorgax unleashing his Cyborg Space Barbarians upon it!

NORDRAX

The Clutter Gallery is hosting their 4th (In)Action Figures group show (Opening Feb 13th), and they were kind enough to ask me to contribute again. The theme of late 70's to early 90's action figures is very near and dear to my heart, so it's always a good time cooking up something unique for the show. This time around I came up with the idea of two 1/1 pieces that utilize a head from my buddy Mike's Realm of The Underworld figures. Nordrax and Xardron take a little bit of Tomax and Xamot and a little bit of He-Man and Faker, and smash them together into the Galaxxor design aesthetic. I thought it was a pretty good fit for the show and had a great time making them!

XARDRON
Nordrax and Xardron are 1/1 resin 5.5" art figures designed, sculpted and hand painted by Ben Spencer. The body was hand cast in resin by The Godbeast and the head is from Realm of the Underworld by Zoloworld. They will be available as individual pieces (but you probably should buy both) for $90 each from The Clutter Gallery. They are now available for purchase here. (In)Action Figures 4 opens on Feb 13th at 6pm at The Clutter Gallery, 163 Main Street in Beacon, NY. If you're in the area, definitely pop in and check out the show. They have another great lineup of artists who should have a bunch of cool stuff!

Galaxxor 015 Designercon 2015 Exclusive from Galaxxor x The Godbeast x Onell Design

Believe it or not, the Galaxxor project just turned 5 years old. It has been a process of learning, developing, missteps, learning from missteps, honing skills, and figuring out what I actually wanted to do. Along the way, the help and support of  Marty "The Godbeast" Hansen and Matt Doughty has been absolutely crucial to Galaxxor's growth. And those guys have continued to support and guide me, as I work toward the next phase of The Galaxxorverse.
So, I felt it was only appropriate that the last (for the foreseeable future, at least) resin 5.5" Galaxxor figure should highlight their amazing contributions. The head sculpt of Galaxxor 015 is all Matt Doughty. We've seen it a couple of times before, years ago at NYCC and a couple of years ago with Infection Galaxxor. The figure is cast in an absolutely gorgeous swirly metallic teal by Mr. Godbeast, himself.

Chronodar's manipulation of the Alpha timelines resulted in a Cosmic Supernova. Swirling, crackling green energies formed into a cosmic vortex right outside of the Anubis-5 system. Realities began converging and colliding. Infinite variations of instances occurred simultaneously. The Alpha was imploding.
Imbued with the power of Ollen, the wise Space Dragon, Galaxxor 015 flew directly into the heart of The Cosmic Supernova.
Summoning all of the power of  The Alpha, he forced the rift shut, folding realities in upon one another. Sonic booms and built to a fever pitch. People and things ceased to exist. Other entities appeared out of nowhere.
And then there was silence.
Order had returned to The Galaxxorverse.
But everything had changed...

Galaxxor 015 is a 5.5" resin art figure that features 3 points of articulation (arms and head). The figure was hand cast in resin by The Godbeast. The original head sculpt is courtesy of Matt Doughty. The original body sculpt and painting duties were handled by Ben Spencer.
Galaxxor 015 comes in a bag and header packaging, is limited to an edition of 5, and will be $90, each. The figure will be exclusively available at Nerd City's booth #1003 at Designer Con, November 21st and 22nd.
Stay tuned for more exclusives, and some truly reality-shattering announcements coming up in the next couple of  weeks. See you at Designer Con!

Space God Chronodar Designercon 2015 Exclusive from Galaxxor x The Godbeast x ManOrMonster? Studios

First of all, apologies for the long time of blog silence. A lot has been going on behind the scenes, and the world of Galaxxor is about to get much, much bigger in the very near future!
Which brings me to Designer Con! Nerd City will be out in force on November 21st and 22nd at the Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena, CA. I'll be there with an abundance of Galaxxor goodies, along with Battle Babies, ManOrMonster? Studios and possibly Frenzy Bros. in Nerd City's booth #1003.
Designer Con will, for Galaxxor, be both the end of an era and the beginning of a new era. The resin Galaxxor pieces from myself and The Godbeast will probably be the last you will see for quite some time. So, I really wanted to pull out all of the stops with my con offerings. And first up is SPACE GOD CHRONOTAR!
Featuring a traditional Galaxxor buck, beautifully cast in translucent orange resin by the mighty Godbeast, and a head cast in resin by the incomparable ManOrMonster? Studios, Chronodar is a continuation of the pantheon of the Seven Space Gods of the Galaxxorverse. He's also a "tip of the hat" to the iconic Micronauts Time Travelers figures.

The Seven Space Gods, the overseers of The Galaxxorverse, use their cosmic powers to maintain order in the reality that is most commonly known as "The Alpha". It is they who direct the Galaxxors to travel from world to world, protecting humanity from the monstrous clutches of chaos and evil. Among the Seven, Chronodar is uniquely powered, via his Infinity Mirror, with the ability to briefly travel forward and backward within the timestream of The Alpha. He manipulates it so that humanity and order may persevere.
Endings become beginnings.
Beginnings become endings.
The Alpha is a complex web of reality, and its temporal nature is only truly known by Space God Chronodar.

Omega Matrix Power General Gorgax C2E2 2015 Exclusive

When General Gorgax unlocked the cosmic powers of the Omega Matrix, Infiniton of the Seven Space Gods tasked Galaxxor 014 to take an elite team of Hippo Titan Soldier Deep Warp Gunners to the digital city C2-E215 to battle Gorgax and his Cyborg Space Barbarian minions. The fate of the Galaxxorverse hangs in the balance of this epic conflict!
In the Galaxxorverse, there are many Galaxxors, but really only one General Gorgax. So, in essence, any Gorgax that I do from here on out will be a variant, of sorts. I've always had a soft spot for those super over the top variants of figures that they used to pump out in the 80's/90's. Who wants a neon green Scuba Attack Batman? No one. But, sometimes, those figures got so crazy that something beautiful happened. So, Omega Matrix Power General Gorgax is my tribute to that sort of figure, along with a tip of the hat to another iconic snake of a villain that rocked that iconic mirror chrome face plate.
Omega Martix Power General Gorgax is a 5.5" art toy that was designed and sculpted by Ben Spencer and engineered and produced in semi-translucent neon pink resin by The Godbeast and True Cast Studio. Gorgax was hand painted by Ben Spencer. He features 3 points of articulation at the arms and head.
Limited to an edition of 5, Omega Matrix Power General Gorgax will be $90 each and will exclusively be available at Nerd City's booth #760 at C2E2.

Galaxxor 014 C2E2 2015 Exclusive

When General Gorgax unlocked the cosmic powers of the Omega Matrix, Infiniton of the Seven Space Gods tasked Galaxxor 014 to take an elite team of Hippo Titan Soldier Deep Warp Gunners to the digital city C2-E215 to battle Gorgax and his Cyborg Space Barbarian minions. The fate of the Galaxxorverse hangs in the balance of this epic conflict!
The head of Galaxxor 014 is a new addition to our library of bits and its design goes back to a weekend I spent hanging out and sculpting at True Cast Studio a couple of years ago. Being a 40K fan, I always loved the look of the Eldar, and wanted to create something that called back to their iconic pointy helms, but that would also blend into the more bulky proportions of the Galaxxor buck. Somewhere along the way, a little bit of my love of late 80's/early 90's McFarlane art crept in there, as well. Marty "The Godbeast" Hansen and the boys at True Cast Studio really knocked it out of the proverbial park with the color of the translucent smoke resin base. In low light, it comes off as a super glossy dark gray, but in high light, it appears to be almost clear. I've always dug clear toys. There's something so cool to me about being able to see their inner workings through the material. I feel like Galaxxor 014 has a bit of that magic.

Limited to an edition of 5, Galaxxxor 014 will be $90 each and will exclusively be available at Nerd City's booth #760 at C2E2.

Cyborg Space Barbarian Kromulus C2E2 2015 Exclusive from Galaxxor x Zoloworld

As General Gorgax's elite goons, the Cyborg Space Barbarians are an essential part of the Galaxxorverse. I love the way that the original helmet I sculpted came out, and I really enjoy making more barbarian-style characters, but as the core Galaxxor brand continues to evolve, I really wanted to move away from them simply being new heads on old MOTU bodies. My buddy Mike, from Zoloworld, and I have been chatting about doing some sort of collaborative work for a while, now. So, it only made sense to look to his awesome Realm of the Underworld line of vintage-style action figures as a possible base upon which to re-launch the Cyborg Space Barbarian concept.Originally conceived as a two-off project for Mike and I to see how the Cyborg Space Barbarian helmet looked with the Zoloworld barbarian buck, Kromulus got a great deal of positive feedback from the pictures that I posted online. So, I decided to do an extremely limited number of these guys as one of my exclusives for C2E2 this year.
So, as opposed to using disused vintage figures for the bodies, the Kromulus figures will feature brand new Zoloworld bucks, which are then hand painted. They will feature 5 points of articulation, at the shoulders, waist and legs. Please let me know if this is something that you'd like to see more of in the future. I'd really like to work with Zoloworld some more, and it might be a cool opportunity to get some top quality Cyborg Space Barbarians into the hands of more collectors.
Cyborg Space Barbarian Kromulus is a 5.5" art figure that features a head sculpted by Ben Spencer, which was then cast in resin by Marty "The Godbeast" Hansen and True Cast Studio. The figure features a custom painted Zoloworld body, which sports 5 points of articulation. Kromulus comes with an Omega Matrix Orbs necklace accessory. This figure is limited to an edition of 3 and they will be $75 each from The Nerd City booth in The Block at C2E2 (April 24-26 in Chicago, IL).
I will have quite a few more exclusives to announce in the next month or so, so stay tuned to the Galaxxor blog for all of the latest and greatest!

Space God Infiniton Resin Figure for Clutter Gallery's Inaction Figures 3 Group Show

From the crystalline planet at the center of the Galaxxorverse, Alpha Supremis, comes Infiniton, one of the cosmic Seven Space Gods! Anyone who's been playing along at home knows that The Seven Space Gods are the real movers and shakers of the Galaxxorverse, so it's super cool to have one of them realized in resin. I was honored to have the opportunity to participate in Clutter's Inaction Figures 3 group show this year and wanted to come up with something really special to contribute. Like most people my age, I was a huge fan of Transformers as a kid, and, for some reason Ultra Magnus's head really spoke to me (not literally. I'm not that crazy). Taking into account that the overall theme for Clutter's Inaction Figures shows is toys form the 70's-90's, I jumped at the chance to mash up that iconic head with my very own Galaxxor figure. I always envisioned The Seven Space Gods as being very Kirbyesque in appearance, and, maybe I've been reading too much of Tom Scioli's Transformers vs. GI Joe, but Ultra Magnus's noggin really seemed to fit the bill.
Space God Infiniton is a 5.5" resin art toy. The Galaxxor buck, which was used for Infiniton was designed and sculpted by yours truly, and engineered and produced in resin by those wizards, Marty "The Godbeast" Hansen and True Cast Studio. The head, as I stated before, is a re-purposed from a vintage Ultra Magnus. Infiniton was hand painted by Ben Spencer, sports articulation at the shoulders and comes packaged in a traditional bag and header format.

Space God Infiniton will be limited to an edition of 3 and is $95 each. He will be exclusively available at the Inaction Figures 3 show at the Clutter Gallery. Inaction Figures 3 opens on Saturday, February 14th and runs through Friday, March 6th. The show will feature work by 2bitHACK, 8-bit ZOMBIE, BigMan Toys, Bombermat Toys, Credenda Studios, Danny Frankenstein, Dave Bondi, Death Cat Toys, DLL Customs, DMS, Eric Nilla, Falcon Toys, Fantastic Planet Toys, Galaxxor, Goodleg Toys, Healeymade, Josh Longo, Kaboom Toys!, Killer Bootlegs, LRG/Plastic Imagination, ManOrMonster?, Marty "TheGodBeast" Hansen, MonstreHero, MuscleThings Laboratories, Nama Niku, Schmucklord, Scott Wilkowski, Scraped Resin, Star Case, Sucklord, The Tarantulas, Ted Terranova (Rivet Wars), Tone Tank, and Triclops Studio. The opening reception for Inaction Figures 3 is from 6-9pm February 14th at The Clutter Gallery, 163 Main Street
 in Beacon, NY.
Infiniton will be available for purchase at the gallery and through the Clutter Online Store.

Cipher: The Last Bounty Hunter 1/1 Figure Drops 10.3.14 @ Noon CST

OK people – We get it – but PLEASE STOP using Boba Fett in your bootlegs toys.  This trend has RUN ITS COURSE. At this point in the game, using a Fett shows A) lack of creativity and B) admittance that your figure cant sell on its own merits. “But Boba Fett is awesome and he is such a big part of my growing up.”  Ya, so is masturbation, but I don’t see a hundred fucking bootlegs with that theme. -Art Toy Critic

For the most part, I agree. But I had this sweet Boba Fett Pez dispenser and a spare Galaxxor body sitting around, and I was just like, "Eh, screw it. I'm making this thing."
No one knows the true identity of of the bounty hunter known simply as "Cipher". He seems to pop up everywhere in the Galaxxorverse, coming to the aid of The Lucha Sharks, assisting General Gorgax's Cyborg Space Barbarians in a battle against the Hippo Titan Soldiers of the planet Kabagiff, and going toe-to-toe with Galaxxor 005 at the beginning of The Xenotron Invasion. Some claim that Cipher is a lone Space Knight survivor of The Xanthic Void War, weaving his way through the Galaxxorverse and trying to return to the homeworld of The Seven Space Gods. Others claim that he is one of Gorgax's most elite operatives, making surgical strikes to weaken the defenses of humanity in his quest for domination. Yet others would argue that he is simply a blood thirsty cutthroat, willing to fight under any banner for the right price. The only thing that is for certain, is that when you lift a character pretty much straight out of Warhammer 40K lore, it seems much less obvious if he's wearing a Mandalorian helmet.

Years ago, before I was doing this Galaxxor stuff, I met a dude who was making resin figures with Mandalorian helmets. I recall telling him something to the effect of, "I think I'm going to try to make some figures like you do, but in a He-Man scale." He couldn't have been more supportive of the idea. So, I guess Cipher is also very much a tip of the hat to that dude.
Cipher is a 5.5" resin art toy that features 2 points of articulation (shoulders). The body was sculpted/designed by Ben Spencer and was extensively refined by Marty "The Godbeast" Hansen and Josh Edwards of True Cast Studio, and the head is from an old Pez dispenser. Cipher was hand painted by Ben Spencer and comes in traditional bag and header packaging.  This is 1/1 figure will be be available on 10.03.14 at noon CST from The Galaxxor Online Store for $85.
