Mini Galaxxors and Megakeshi Galaxxor Prototypes Drop 11.19.13

http://galaxxor.bigcartel.com/product/megakeshi-galaxxor-1-1-prototype-in-pink-flesh
Although things have been relatively quiet, as of late, in the Galaxxorverse, a good bit of stuff has been going on behind the scenes. Thanks mostly in part to my friends The Godbeast and the rest of the gang at True Cast Studio (which I recently had the chance to visit!), the next evolution of Galaxxor is in the works! The original sculpt has been greatly refined (courtesy of the mighty Josh Edwards), and there have been leaps and bounds made, in terms of producing the figures in a keshi-style rubber. As a result, I have a few 1/1 prototype Megakeshi 5.5" Galaxxors (each with 3 interchangeable heads, including one by the mighty Matt Doughty!), as well as a large selection of 2" Mini Galaxxors (sculpted and cast by none other than The Godbeast, himself!). Some of these pieces are suuuuper rare, and you'll have your chance to score them for your very own on 11.19.13 at noon CST.

Each Mini Galaxxor will be $17 a piece. Swirled colorways will obviously vary in appearance, due to the randomness of the swirled resin. Apologies for the sort of shitty pics of the little dudes, it was my first go at really trying to photograph mini figures.

Grape-Apes: Techno-Barbarian Simian Shamans from Galaxxor x Goodleg Toys x Monster Kolor

https://www.facebook.com/events/596314330391337
I was honored to have been asked by my friend Jessie from Doomkick to participate in his It Came from the Pressure Pot group art show at Monster Kolor Studios. Thematically, the show was fairly open, but the pieces for the show had to feature some paint by the mighty Monster Kolor. Due to the fact that Monster Kolor's metallic purple "Grapeape" color is a personal favorite of mine, I decided to create some pieces entirely themed around it. I decided that I would utilize some disused vintage MOTU bucks, much in the way that I had previously done with my Cyborg Space Barbarians, and reach out to my buddy Luke from Goodleg Toys to cast up some sweet resin ape heads from the vintage knockoff line, Apes Attack. I painted up an edition of 5 for the show, and Luke came up with an awesome bio for the Grape-Apes that puts them square in the middle of his Holo Apes Universe:
"Grape-Apes are guardians of the so called "Prima Materia", the primal essence the whole Universe is made of. This essence is lying hidden deep inside the Forbidden Zone, which no other life form except for the true keepers of the last secrets of the Universe is allowed to enter. Grape-Apes are descendants of the glorious Holo Apes, an advanced warriors caste, protecting the Forbidden Zone against all alien threats. Only the bravest of these Apes might later turn into a Grape Ape, a Techno-Barbarian Simian Shaman, by eventually ingesting a Prima Materia impregnated housel after victorious battle. It is also the Grape-Apes who bring these sacret housels to the battlefields, to distribute them among the warriors. And to potentially turn the purest of them into one of their kind."
Grape-Apes will be available exclusively at It Came from the Pressure Pot, Saturday, November 9th, from 7-10pm at Monster Kolor Studios in Middlesboro, MA. They feature resin ape heads courtesy of Goodleg Toys, articulation at the shoulders and hand painting by Ben Spencer. These will be an edition of 5 and will be $65 each.
Update!
It looks like there were a few left over from the show. They are now available for purchase from the Monster Kolor online store.

Megakeshi Galaxxor!

The future is here! My friends, Josh Edwards and The Godbeast at True Cast Studio have been hard at work refining and retooling original Galaxxor sculpt into something a bit sharper and more polished, which also incorporates a new True Cast-engineered articulation/part interchangeability system. The result is essentially a Galaxxor 2.0 design, which, while maintaining all of the visual design of the original, takes the sculpt to the next proverbial level. And speaking of taking things to another level, I now have the ability, through True Cast, to have Galaxxor produced in a keshi-style rubber. I've dubbed the format "Megakeshi", because it incorporates the look and feel of those old M.U.S.C.L.E.-type figures that we all loved, but maintains that classic 5.5" MOTU-type scale. Pictured above is a figure that utilizes the Galaxxor head sculpted by the one and only Matt Doughty, and below is a new head, courtesy of True Cast's Josh Edwards. We will also still be doing the standard dome, Cyborg Space Barbarian, and Gorgax heads. All of these will incorporate the new, interchangeable joint system.

If you're anything like me, you're just dying to get one of these giant hunks of rubber into your hands. Your first chance is going to be at this year's New York Comic Con. Although I'm unfortunately not going to be able to make the show, my partner in crime, The Godbeast, as well as The other True Cast gang will have at least a couple of these dudes for you to play around with at Onell Design's booth #102.
There's quite a bit of exciting stuff coming down the cosmic pipe from the Galaxxorverse in the upcoming months, including an opportunity to score some of these Megakeshi figures for your very own.
Stay tuned!

Galaxxor 007 Mini Comics Included Variant Edition

The Mini Comics Included Kickstarter project by my friends, Mike Moreci, Steve Seeley and Tim Seeley not only included an appearance of Galaxxor 007 in the Omega Family comic, but also included a Galaxxor figure as one of the incentives to supporters. Three lucky backers are going to get their hands on these super rare Galaxxor 007 variant figures that were made just for the Kickstarter campaign.
This 5.5" figure was designed, sculpted and painted by yours truly and produced in resin by Marty "The Godbeast" Hansen  at True Cast Studios. It will come with header card (seen above) of slightly doctored images of Galaxxor 007's appearance in the Omega Family comic.
Oh yeah! And keep your eyes on this blog. The preorder for a Galaxxor 012/Mini Galaxxor set will be up before you know it!

Hippo Titan Soldier Wog for The Blue Collar Toy Show

I was very honored to have been asked to contribute to the Blue Collar Toy Show, hosted by my friends at Madknits.  The group show will open July 13th at the Hope Artiste Village in Pawtucket, RI, and will feature a couple of pieces from me, as well as work from many of my friends and favorite artists.
In addition to my Sharkastator piece for the show, I wanted to do a unique 1/1 version of the Hippo Titan soldier figure that I did with ManOrMonster? Studios. I wanted this one to be an homage to one of my all time favorite superheroes, the Green Lantern Kilowog. I've got to say, I'm quite pleased with how he came out!

Hippo Titan Soldier Wog is a 1/1 5.5" art figure that will never be painted in this manner again. The figure was originally sculpted by Ben Spencer, cast in resin by ManOrMonster? Studios, and hand painted by Ben Spencer. The figure features 3 points of magnetic articulation (waist and shoulders) and a Magnetic blunderbuss construct cast in green translucent resin. Wog will be $90.
For all of the latest and greatest on the Blue Collar Toy Show, check out the event page on Facebook or the MadKnits Facebook page
UPDATE! Wog is now available for purchase in the Galaxxor Online Store.

Sharkastator for The Blue Collar Toy Show

I was very honored to have been asked to contribute to the Blue Collar Toy Show, hosted by my friends at Madknits.  The group show will open July 13th at the Hope Artiste Village in Pawtucket, RI, and will feature a couple of pieces from me, as well as work from many of my friends and favorite artists.
For my first contribution to the show, I did this crazy mashup of the traditional Galaxxor body with the Lucha Shark head. I've always loved the look of that old Killer Carp figure from Battle Beasts, and this colorway is loosely inspired by him. In the end, this could represent a super armored Lucha Shark, or a wildly mutated rogue Galaxxor, or that I'm just losing my mind. In any case, I've decided to dub this mashed up monstrosity "Sharkastator".

Sharkastator is a 1/1 5.5" art figure that will never be painted in this manner again. The figure was originally sculpted by Ben Spencer, cast in resin by Marty "The Godbeast" Hansen, and hand painted by Ben Spencer. The figure features 2 points of articulation (shoulders). Sharkastator will be $90.
For all of the latest and greatest on the Blue Collar Toy Show, check out the event page on Facebook or the MadKnits Facebook page
At time of posting this, I do not know if this will be available online for purchase. If I do get that information, I will be sure to update this post with it.

Sgt. Krugg, Hippo Titan Soldier Drops 05.24.13 at Noon CDT

From the planet Kabagiff, in the solar system that revolves around the blue star Anubis 5, comes Sgt. Krugg, Hippo Titan Soldier! Under the benevolent rule of Imperator Zog, the Kabagiffian are a heroic and militaristic race who rebelled against General Gorgax and his Evil Mutant Legion with the help of Galaxxor 001. Given the divine sanction of The Seven Space Gods, The Kabagiffian Army staunchly defends its planet from invasion and also lends assistance to peacekeeping Galaxxors when additional support is required.
Sgt. Krugg was designed, sculpted and mashed up by Ben Spencer and engineered and produced in resin by ManOrMonster? Studios. He features 3 points of magnetic articulation (waist and shoulders), as well as a blunderbuss accessory, which can be held in his hand or magnetically mounted on his hip or back. Krugg was hand painted by Ben Spencer. This figure is limited to an edition of 5 and will never be released in this colorway ever again.
The added element of the magnetic articulation adds a really cool "play" value to The Hippo Titan Soldier, which is an exciting new thing for my toys. It's also worth noting that the magnet system is completely compatible with all ManOrMonster? figures, including the awesome Warlords of Wor line. Magnets! How do they work?
Sgt. Krugg, Hippo Titan Soldier will be limited to an edition of 5 and will be available at noon CDT on 05.24.13 for $85 each, exclusively from The Galaxxor Online Store.
